4 Rhymes to Shine

You've got to take the good with the bad, smile the sad, love what you've got and remember what you had. Always forgive, but never forget, learn from mistakes, but never regret.Hey there everyone!!

How do we remember all the things we know in the moments that we most need them?  Sometimes acronyms (like SMART goals, FEAR = False Evidence Appearing Real) help, while poetry and alliterations help by arranging the nuggets of wisdom in symmetric and harmonious ways.

Check out these five rhymes that may help trigger you in moments of despair and hardship, transforming your state immediately!

1. Are you a Whiner or are you a Winner?

Winners focus on winning; losers focus on winners. It’s not what we are saying as much as how we are saying it.  What’s your tone?  Are you speaking from your nose?  You can compliment like a whiner, or complain like a winner.  As soon as we restrain from being a whiner, we automatically become a winner!

There’s another distinction about being a winner, and that’s humility.  We don’t make fun of the losers or the second-placers.  Whiners are always right (and stay right), while winners let things go knowing that winning isn’t everything.  That’s how winners win (and sometimes it’s the only way we can win).

Remember what motivational legend Les Brown says, “It’s Not Over Until I Win!”

2. You can go from Zero to Hero!

Time to be my own Hero.Sometimes I look at other people’s accomplishments and wonder, “why can’t I get there?”  While I’ve come to realize that we’re all on different journeys and playing different games, with varying degrees of genetics, resources, and assets, I’ve also seen “rags to riches” stories abundantly in so many communities.

Some people may not realize that “they” are rags to riches story, simply because they’ve lost track, or have forgotten where they have come from.  We are in era were such drastic changes are not just possible within the same generation, but now within a few years.

3. Turn your Tragic life into a Magic life.

Magic in Forest & NatureAdversity is not just difficult, it can be overwhelming because it is something unexpected, complicated, and unfair.  It takes more than skill to overcome adversity – it takes a lifetime of love, creativity, patience, and spiritual growth.

But aren’t there just as many miracles that are unexpected, sophisticated, and serendipitously perfect just for us?  What about all the times people bailed us out and overlooked something they didn’t need to, when we gave them a quick glimpse of humanity?  If it wasn’t for a series of miracles, we wouldn’t be experiencing this magic.

4. Have your Misery become your Ministry…

Turn your Misery into your Ministry. It’s ironic, and some people don’t understand it.  My optimism sees how life is so beautiful for me (and makes me happy), but when I’m on stage I share with people how difficult my life is and all the adversity I endure every single day.

That’s because people are not inspired by what we’ve done as much as they are about what we consistently go through.  Many adversities need an outlet (whether it is therapy, exercise, writing, meditation, or spirituality).  This is my outlet.

Your darkness can be the light for someone else.  Don’t think binary, think shades of grey: If you’re dark 23, and someone is in dark 4, YOU are their light.  Be a road-map, be a guide, or put up signs where there are pitfalls.  Even if you don’t win, your experience can help someone else play a better game.
"Until we have seen someone's darkness, we don't really know who they are. Until we have forgiven someone's darkness, we don't really know what love is." - Marianne Williamson
As usual, subtle nuances – only a few letters – make all the difference in the world!

Whiner –> Winner
Zero –> Hero
Tragic –> Magic
Misery –> Ministry

Let’s love the world together…
